About the event

It's time for Lowiczanie's annual pisanki class! Pisanki are beautifully colored eggs traditionally given to express hopes and wishes for loved ones in the coming year. In Polish, pisać means 'to write' and that perfectly captures this style of egg decorating. We will use a special 'pen' equipped with a copper funnel, called a kistka, to write on the egg with melted beeswax. Then we dye the egg multiple times.

We will have 12 different dye colors available and all the materials you need. You just need to show up and our instructor, Krysia Smolen, and team of experienced volunteers will guide you through the process step by step. Everyone will be able to take home a pisanka in a protective container.

Plan to stay the entire three hours  as there are a lot of steps: decorating and dyeing, coating the egg in a protective glaze, and blowing the raw egg out of the shell.

Children 6 and younger need an adult assisting them. There is fire invovled and fragile eggs, little ones need help to do a pisanka successfully.

Pisanki supplies will be available for purchase.

$22 per adult participant, $10 for ages 12 to 21, children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult

Snacks and beverages will be included with your entrance fee.

Space is limited, please RSVP to guarantee a spot
