About the event

Easter is fast approaching and with it our Annual Pisanki Workshop! Pisanki is an ancient art of Slavic peoples in which melted beeswax is used to write on the egg with a special metal stylus. Intricate designs and symbols reflect the maker's hopes and wishes for the coming year and for the loved ones the eggs are gifted.

Our pisanki instructor, Krysia Smolen, will lead you through the steps of making your very own pisanka. From start to finish one egg will take up to 2.5 hours to complete depending on how intricate your design is and how many dye colors you use. It's important to arrive on time for the workshop as it is difficult to arrive mid-instruction and also then to have time to finish (although if it is necessary to arrive late, by all means still do! We absolutely will do our best to accommodate). All materials…
